Terms of Use

These terms are the agreement between you and Rentwize. They set out what you can expect from us and what we expect from you. Please read them before you create an account.

01Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Use are a contract between you and Rentwize Technologies Limited ("Rentwize", "we", "us" or "our"). They cover your use of the Rentwize app and this website. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Rentwize.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data and forms part of this agreement.

02Who can use Rentwize

You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a contract under the law that applies to you. By using Rentwize you confirm that the information you give us is true and that you will keep it up to date.

03Your account

You are responsible for your account and for keeping your password and transaction PIN private. Activity that happens under your account is treated as yours, so tell us straight away if you think someone else has access. We are not liable for losses caused by someone using your login when you failed to keep it secure.

04Profiles and verification

You can use Rentwize as a tenant, landlord, agent, or service professional. To list a property, offer a service, or carry out certain transactions, you first complete identity verification (KYC). We may decline or pause verification, and we may limit what an unverified account can do.

05Using the marketplace

Rentwize connects people who want to rent, list, or provide services. You can browse listings, send enquiries, make bookings, and arrange payments through the app. Rentwize is the platform that makes the connection. The actual let, sale, or service is an agreement between you and the other user.

06Listings and content rules

If you publish a listing or service, the information must be accurate and yours to offer. You may not post content that is misleading, illegal, infringes someone else's rights, or that you do not have the right to share.

We may review, edit the placement of, or remove any listing that breaks these rules or the law, and we may suspend accounts that repeat the behaviour.

07Payments, wallet, and fees

You fund your wallet through a dedicated virtual account and pay from your wallet balance. Payments are protected by your transaction PIN. Funding and browsing are free. Some transactions, such as withdrawals and certain bill payments, carry a small fee. We show you the exact fee before you confirm, so there are no surprises.

Payments are processed by licensed, regulated financial partners. Once you confirm a payment it may not be reversible, so check the details first. If a payment fails but your wallet is debited, contact support and we will help trace and resolve it.

08Rent and bill payments

You can pay rent, buy airtime and data, settle electricity bills, and renew cable TV from your wallet. For bills paid to third parties such as utility companies and networks, you are responsible for giving the correct account, meter, or phone number. We are not responsible for a payment that fails or goes astray because the details you entered were wrong.

09Transactions between users

When you transact with another user, the agreement is between the two of you. We verify identities and review listings to reduce risk, but we do not own the properties, employ the professionals, or guarantee the conduct of any user. Inspect a property, read the terms, and ask questions before you commit.

If a dispute comes up, we will help where we reasonably can, including by sharing transaction records with the people involved or with authorities when the law allows.

10Acceptable use

When using Rentwize, you agree not to:

  • Break any law, or use the platform to launder money or fund anything illegal.
  • Impersonate another person or business, or create accounts to deceive.
  • Post false listings, fake reviews, or misleading prices.
  • Try to access accounts, data, or systems you are not allowed to.
  • Interfere with the service, scrape it at scale, or upload harmful code.
  • Harass, threaten, or defraud other users.

11Our intellectual property

The Rentwize name, logo, app, website, and the software behind them belong to us or our licensors. You may use the service as these terms allow, but you may not copy, resell, or reverse engineer it, or use our brand without written permission.

12Content you post

You keep ownership of the content you post, such as listing photos and descriptions. By posting it, you give us a licence to host, display, and promote it so the service can run and your listing can reach the right people. You can remove your content, though copies may remain in backups for a short time.

13Third-party services

Rentwize works with third parties for payments, verification, maps, and similar features, and may link to services we do not control. We are not responsible for those services, and your use of them may be covered by their own terms.

14Service availability and changes

We work to keep Rentwize available, but we cannot promise it will never go down for maintenance or reasons outside our control. We may add, change, or remove features over time. If a change materially reduces the core service, we will give you reasonable notice where we can.

15Suspension and termination

You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, poses a risk to other users, or where the law requires it. Where it is fair and safe to do so, we will tell you why. Closing an account does not cancel obligations that built up before it closed, such as settling a pending transaction.

16Disclaimers

Rentwize is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do our best to keep listings accurate and users genuine, but we do not warrant that every listing is faultless, that a property is exactly as described by its owner, or that the service will be uninterrupted. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under applicable consumer law that cannot be waived.

17Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Rentwize is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss arising from your dealings with another user, from bill details you entered incorrectly, or from events outside our reasonable control. Where we are found liable, our total liability is limited to the fees you paid us for the transaction in question.

18Indemnity

You agree to cover us for reasonable losses and costs that result from your misuse of the service, your breach of these terms, or content you posted that infringes someone else's rights.

19Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Rentwize is established. If a dispute arises, we ask that you contact us first so we can try to settle it directly. Disputes that cannot be settled this way are subject to the courts of that jurisdiction.

20Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service and the law change. When we make a meaningful change, we will update the date at the top and let you know in the app or by email. If you keep using Rentwize after the change, you accept the new terms.
